UPSC to Send Recruitment Alerts to Institutions Amid Low Application Numbers

UPSC Recruitment Updates: To address low application numbers, the UPSC will start sending recruitment alerts directly to educational institutions.
UPSC Recruitment Updates: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched a new email alert service to keep universities and professional institutions better informed about central government job vacancies. The initiative aims to ensure that eligible candidates don’t miss out on opportunities due to a lack of timely information.
Explaining the move, UPSC Chairman Dr. Ajay Kumar said that several recruitment drives have seen a poor response, with too few applicants or no suitable candidates shortlisted. “Sometimes posts remain vacant or lapse during the interview stage because appropriate candidates aren’t available,” he added.
How will Universities/Institutes get Recruitment Alerts?
Institutions can now receive UPSC recruitment alerts directly in their inboxes. To subscribe, they simply need to send an email to ra-upsc@gov.in with the subject line: “Subscription Request - UPSC Recruitment Alerts.” This will help them stay informed about vacancies relevant to their domains.
Meanwhile, ministries and departments have been instructed to circulate these notifications on their respective platforms, and public broadcasters may also be roped in to enhance visibility.
Previously, the UPSC relied on its website, Employment News, and LinkedIn to advertise vacancies. With email alerts now being sent directly to institutions, the Commission hopes to reach suitable candidates more quickly and boost UPSC applications, particularly for specialised roles.
