CUET UG 2023 has received 16.85 lakh registrations accounting to 41 per cent increase as compared to last year. As many as 1,000 applications have been received from 74 foreign countries. The application process concluded on March 30 and the correction window was open from April 1 to April 3.
CUET UG 2023 Registrations Increased by 41%
CUET UG 2023 application process has concluded on March 30. As many as 16.85 lakh candidates have registered for the exam. Out of this number, almost 14 lakh candidates have completed the application process by paying the application fee. Stating the numbers, UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar tweeted, “Out of 16.85 lakhs, 13.995 lakhs paid the application fee and submitted the application form—an increase of 4.0 lakh students. In 2023, there is a 41% increase in the total number of students who will sit for CUET-UG.”
Last year, the CUET UG exam received 12.50 lakh registrations out of which, 9.9 lakh candidates completed the application process. The UGC Chairman has also informed that 1,000 applications have been received from foreign students from 74 countries.
The CUET UG 2023 application correction window was open from April 1 to April 3. The advance intimation to exam city slip will be released on April 30 and the exam will be conducted in a window of 10 days, from May 21 to May 31. NTA has also reserved exam dates from June 1 to June 7. This year, the number of exam cities in India has reduced whereas the number of exam cities outside India has increased from 14 to 24.
As per the official website, the number of participating universities has increased exponentially, to around 220. Along with Central, State, Deemed and Private universities, three professional universities, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Indian Culinary Institute and Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management have also joined the CUET UG 2023 participating universities list.
