Candidates filing IIT JAM 2020 admission forms can now request to change the category and rectify the defective documents until May 15 - IIT Kanpur
IIT Kanpur has released a clarification for 'change in the category' and 'rectification of defective documents' for IIT JAM 2020 admission process. Earlier, IIT Kanpur has released a notification that no more changes in personal information including, category and PWD status will be allowed. However, now candidates will be able to change the details related to the category as well as, rectify the relevant documents before May 15. The option for this facility will be enabled in the application window of IIT JAM 2020 admission process on JOAPS website.
Candidates who have already filled and submitted the application form of IIT JAM 2020 admission can send an email for 'change of category/rectification of defective documents by IIT Kanpur as under;

Subject line: Change of category/rectification of defective documents in IIT JAM 2020 admission form
Details to be sent:
- Name: mention your name as registered
- Application ID: mention your IIT JAM 2020 application number
- Roll Number: mention your IIT JAM 2020 roll number
- Registered Email: mention your IIT JAM 2020 registered email ID
- Registered Mobile No.: mention your IIT JAM 2020 register mobile number
- Category/PwD status on the Application (Current): mention already filled category in IIT JAM 2020 admission form
- Category/PwD status to be changed to: mention the category you need to get it changed to
Also, candidates need to attach the documents as proof of the change in category/PwD status i.e. relevant caste category or the medical certificate as issued by the competent authority.
Candidates should note that change in category and rectification of documents is permissible until May 15 and, any request after this date will be denied by IIT Kanpur.
