IIT JAM 2026 seat allotment for round 4 is available now. Candidates can check the seat allotment result through JOAPS portal. Students who are allotted seats in JAM counselling round 4 have to pay the seat acceptance fee by June 30, 2026. 

  • The authority will release IIT JAM additional round list (if any) on July 3, 2026.
  • IIT JAM counselling window was active from March 27 to April 15, 2026.

Students who qualified IIT JAM exam 2026 had to register online to participate in the counselling process. There are four rounds of IIT JAM counselling. Check the page for more information on IIT JAM 2026 counselling.

IIT JAM 2026 Seat Allotment

The authority has released round 4 seat allotment for IIT JAM 2026 counselling. Candidates can check the seat allotment result through the JOAPS portal. They have to provide their enrolment id / email address and password to check the seat allotment offer. After checking the offer, candidates must submit their willingness before the last date. Moreover, candidates must keep their offer letter. They will have to produce the offer letter during the document verification process.

Who can apply for IIT JAM counselling 2026?

Candidates whose JAM marks are above the qualifying cutoff can apply for the counselling. They also have to fulfil the eligibility requirements and minimum educational qualification (MEQs).

IIT JAM Eligibility Requirements (ERs)

Academic Qualification:

  • Completed graduation or are in the final year of undergraduate program.
  • Candidates in final year need to submit the proof of passing the qualifying degree exam within the date prescribed by the admitting institutes.

Promotion Without Marksheet:

  • Candidates who were promoted to the next academic year without a marksheet or grade have to produce a certificate duly signed and stamped by the head of the institute or department. The subjects studied during that semester must be mentioned on the certificate.

Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQs)

Candidates must have completed their graduation in a relevant subject. The educational qualification ensures that the candidate has the necessary academic foundation for advanced study.

Q:   What is difference between IIT JAM qualifying cutoff and admisison cutoff?
A: 

IIT JAM qualifying cutoff is released along with the exam result. It is the minimum mark required to be eligible for the admission process. While the admission cutoff is released after each round of IIT JAM counselling process. It is the opening and closing rank. Students whose JAM rank is between opening and closing rank are offered seat.

What is IIT JAM 2026 Counselling Process

Applicants are considered for admission only to the programme choices filled in the Admission Form. JAM 2026 counselling is held in four rounds in the normal case. If seats remain vacant, additional rounds may be conducted. Applicants receiving an offer in any of the rounds are required to log in at the official website within the stipulated time and choose one of the three options viz. (a) Accept and Freeze (b) Accept with Upgrade (c) Reject and Quit.

The candidates have to log in to the JOAPS portal to view their status. Applicants offered a seat in the first round must log in to the candidate portal and choose one of the three options discussed above in the stipulated time. If seats remain vacant after the first round of admission, a Second Admission List will be prepared. The candidates who chose Accept and Upgrade in the previous round are required to log in to the portal to view their current seat allocation. Applicants who will be offered a seat in the Second List must log in to the Candidate Portal and choose one of the three options discussed above on or before the stipulated time.

Notes: If the marksheet for the qualifying year is not available, then you need to submit a declaration. However, candidates will have to submit them to the admitting institutes within the prescribed date.

Candidates who fulfil the eligibility conditions can apply for IIT JAM 2026 counselling process. They have to log in to the JOAPS portal. Pre-filled application details will display on the screen. Your Class 12 marks does not matter for admission at IIT Goa for the MSc courses. For admission at this IIT for the MSc programme, you would need to first have a Bachelors degree with at least 55% marks for the General and OBC  categories (50% marks for the SC, ST and PWD categories).

No, you cannot get admission to IIT Goa with a rank of 2267 in the IIT JAM exam. As per the IIT Goa cutoff 2026, the round three closing ranks ranged from 775 to 792 for the General AI category. Hence, admission to this college with the attained rank is not possible.

No, according to the IIT Dharwad MSc cutoff 2026 for the third round, you cannot get into this college. For the General AI category, the round 3 closing rank was 708

But you can get into IIT Goa in the third round. This college had the 3rd round cutoff of 775 for the General AI category.
