IIT Roorkee will conduct the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2022 onĀ February 13. The JAM application portal will be open to students from August 30 to October 11, 2021.Ā Ā
The JAM 2022 will be held in the online mode as a computer-based test (CBT). It will have seven test papers ā biotechnology (BT), chemistry (CY), economics (EN), geology (GG), mathematics (MA), mathematical statistics (MS) and physics (PH). The candidate can appear for either one or two test papers. It is an objective type test, with three different patterns of questions: (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. Ā

JAM is a qualifying examination for candidates seeking admission to various masters programmes such as MSc (two years), masters in economics (two years), joint MScāPhD, MscāPhD dual degree, MScāMS (research)/ PhD dual degree and other postābachelor degree programmes at IITs (Bhilai, Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Delhi, (ISM) Dhanbad, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Palakkad, Patna, Roorkee, Ropar, Tirupati, and BHU, Varanasi). Ā
JAM score will be used by IISc Bangalore for admission to integrated PhD programmes andĀ by other centrally funded technical institutions such as NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET Punjab, and IISERsĀ or admission to their postgraduate programmes.Ā JAM rating is valid for only one year. The exam attracts more than 1 lakh aspirants every year. Ā
Eligibility criteria for IIT JAM 2022Ā

BothĀ IndianĀ andĀ foreignĀ candidatesĀ can apply for IIT JAM 2022.

CandidatesĀ should haveĀ a bachelorāsĀ degree inĀ relevant field from any recognisedĀ university. General/OBCĀ (NCL)/EWS category candidates should have obtained aggregate marksĀ of at least 55%, whereas SC/ST and PwD category candidates should have obtained 50%Ā in bachelors to become eligible for the exam.
