IIT JAM is a highly competitive exam conducted by the IITs every year for admission into Master of Science and other postgraduate programmes that they have to offer. The IIT JAM exam was conducted on February 2, 2025, across several test centres of India in a computer-based format, in two shifts for admissions to MSc and Integrated PhD programmes. The IIT JAM 2024 exam was organised in two slots. The first slot of the exam was scheduled to take place from 9:30 AM and got over at 12:30 PM. The second/afternoon slot of the exam was held from 2:30 PM till 5:30 PM.

The rank needed to get into IIT Kanpur would depend on the category and branch chosen. For the General AI category, the highest rank admissible was 900 for the Integrated PhD in Sustainable Energy Engineering programme.
