The UPCATET 2020 first PhD counselling round is underway and shortlisted students are now required to fill the choice and lock the option, which will be available on the official website of UPCATET from December 17 onwards. The option for online choice filling will be available from December 17 to December 18 and the online choice locking option will be available only on December 19 till 5:00 PM. The online UPCATET PhD counselling round commenced from December 10 onwards and the last date to upload and submit the documents was till December 14, 2020.

Candidates have to select the choice and select the seat type, such as through a nominal, paid, self-financing, and once filled, the candidate can lock their choice on December 19, 2020.
Once the choice has been locked, the seat allocation list will be released online on December 23, 2020. Once confirmed and accepted by the students, they will have to report to the varsity and pay the admission fee to complete the admission formalities and secure a seat in the programme applied for.
A second PhD counselling round will be conducted if there are any seats which are left vacant.
