UPSC 2021 Prelims exam is postponed. The IAS 2021 prelims exam will now be conducted on October 10. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) issued a notice regarding the re-scheduling of the IAS Prelims 2021 exam. It was expected because of the rising cases of COVID-19 across the nation.
UPSC had rescheduled the IAS prelims exam last year also and hence it was expected that the IAS 2021 prelims will also be rescheduled. UPSC IAS prelims exam is a nationwide exercise and it requires a large scale mobilisation of civil and police personnel at the district level. The District Magistrate is the in-charge at the district level and supervises all the activities related to the IAS Prelims exam.

IAS 2021 Prelims exam was scheduled for June 27. The UPSC postponed the IAS interviews earlier and it was expected that the IAS Prelims 2021 will also be postponed until September or October. The IAS main 2021 which was notified to be conducted in September will also be postponed to December or January next year. The UPSC is expected to release a newly revised exam calendar for the rest of the year.
UPSC 2021 prelims exam is also affected by the second wave of COVID-19 because the number of cases is more than double as compared to last year. The new IAS prelims 2021 exam dates are also tentative and it depends on the prevailing conditions of that time.
IAS Prelims exam is an objective type exam conducted offline across the nation simultaneously based on the following pattern.
