The TIFR GS 2026 Entrance Exam is all set to be held on December 14, 2025. Students who are going to take this exam should be aware of the TIFR GS 2026 Shift Timing and other important guidelines as well. TIFR GS Eligibility Criteria - Physics

Course

TIFS GS Eligibility Criteria

Integrated PhD

ME/ MTech/ BSc/ BS/ BE/ BTech/ BChem in Physics, Engineering Physics, or equivalent degree, on completion of a course whose duration is not less than three years in total

PhD

MSc/ MS in Physics, or equivalent, on completion of a course whose duration is not less than five years in total.

Note: Integrated PhD students with a minimum of four or more years of university education who clear the written test may be considered by TCIS for their PhD program.

TIFS GS Eligibility Criteria

PhD

BTech/ BE/ MTech/ ME/ MCA/ MSc or equivalent degree in Computer ScienceElectronics & Communications Engineering/ Electrical Engineering or related branches.

BTech/ BE/ MTech/ ME/ MSc degree courses are also considered. Besides, candidates who have done exceptionally well in a year degree course in related subjects may be considered for an integrated PhD.

TIFR GS 2026 Dress Code

There are no mandatory guidelines for the TIFR GS exam dress code, but it is advisable to wear simple semi-formal and formal clothes like shirts, pants, suits or salwar kameez. This applied to both male and female students. Students must avoid wearing any jewellery so as not to be restricted during the security check-up. 

TIFR GS 2026 Admit Card

  • Every student has to bring their hall ticket on the day of their exam.
  • No one will be allowed without the admit card.
  • Students should also bring a valid ID proof. 
  • Visit the official portal to download the TIFR GS Admit card.
  • Correct any information in the hall ticket if incorrect. 

TIFR GS 2026: Important Instructions

Here are some TIFR GS guidelines, students must follow:

  • Students must go to their examination centre one hour before the exam time. 
  • Students should bring their black pen, eraser pencil, and other necessary things.
  • Go through the instructions mentioned on the question paper and answer sheet before writing. 
  • No student is allowed to bring a calculator, a water bottle, gadgets or cellphones.
