If you have back ground knowledge of Geography, Geology, Climatology, Meteorology, Urban Planning, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Water Resource Management etc at your Graduation level education then Geoinformatics at Masters Level will give you immense scope and opportunity to apply you graduation subjects in real world and you can earn huge bucks. If you have Geo-informatics at graduation it wont help much getting jobs after graduation. If you have the zeal to be a researcher or scientist pursue Geoinformatics till PhD and the one can have opportunities at various Research Organisation. Private sectors are pathetic towards Geoinformatics. Starting pay wont be more than 20k. If you are good at programming and have Geoinformatics as your base, you will be very much welcomed by private sectors. Private Sector have many opening for software developers for GIS & RS.
