ACCA certified are preferred in those firms which are MNCs, global firms and consulting firms (Like Deloitte, PWC, EnY, etc.). It is because these firms follow global accounting practices in their day to day work. And, please understand that Indian Accounting Standards are a little different from GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Indian firms prefer CAs more. It is because they follow Indian accounting standards and CAs are more acquainted with the Indian version of accounting standards.
Indian economy is rapidly growing, expanding and globalising. Few years down the line, we will see more international firms operating in India, more FDI, etc. Indian companies like Tata, Godrej, Hero, etc. are doing a geographical expansion.
