Event management is fast catching up as a hot career option because of the element of glitz, glamour, flamboyance and style associated with important social and corporate events due to the increasing trend in retail and marketing sector. A candidate opting for a diploma course in event management is required to pass the Higher Secondary or 10 + 2 course in any discipline. The aspirant for event management course should have a genuine passion for conducting events. He/she should have very good organizing ability and be flexible to work for long hours. Having a degree in public relations along with your Masters in marketing will be an added advantage for this profession. One can work as an event manager in companies like Wizcraft, television channels like Zee TV, coordinate fashion shows for companies like Lakme and organize award ceremonies for magazines like Filmfare. One can also work as a public relation executive in various media and advertisement houses and tourism sector. One can work as an event manger and coordinator in companies like Oglivy and Mather, Percept' D mark, CNBC TV, DNA Network and Encompass abroad. Films and serial production houses, hotel industry, tourism, the corporate sector, BPOs (Business Processing Outsourcing), newspaper houses and the fashion industry are some of the sectors where an event manager is required. An able Event Manager can also work as a consultant in corporations or can work independently. The following institutes offer graduate and post graduate diploma courses in event management.

Chartered accountants work in all fields of business and finance, including audit, taxation, financial and general management. Some are engaged in public practice work, others work in the private sector and some are employed by government bodies.A candidate who desires to become a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and thereby a practicing chartered accountant must:
(a) Clear the intermediate and final examination of the institute.
(b) Register as an articled or audit clerk with a practicing chartered accountant.
(c) Register with the board of studies of the institute.
In order to be eligible for appearing in the intermediate and final exams of the institute, the aspirant must have successfully completed and passed the foundation course. Most chartered accountants are commerce graduates, which provides them with a b back up before they embark on such an important nay-tough course. Registration to the foundation course of one-year duration is open to those who have completed 10+2.
The foundation course can also be taken up simultaneously with graduate or postgraduate studies. Commerce graduates with 50% marks, non-commerce graduates without maths, with 55% marks and non-commerce graduates with maths and an aggregate of 60% marks are exempted from the foundation exam and are permitted to register as articled clerks for practical training.
The CA course is conducted through lectures and postal tuitions by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), head-quartered in New Delhi.
The ICAI has five regional offices at Mumbai, Calcutta, Chennai, Kanpur, and New Delhi, with 81 branches to these regional centers.
