Hello Kirupa, Of course yes. You can definitely pursue Ph.D. after completion of your PG in aeronautics. Only thing is you will have to follow standard procedure prescribed by the university for this purpose. Best wishes.

Hello Adarsh, In a way both are in the field of aeronautics. I will try to answer in a different manner. Engineering courses leading to graduation can be started only after approval by AICTE. On the other hand Aircraft Maintenance Engineering though called engineering actually is not engineering. These courses of three years duration are approved by DGCA. From opportunities for job, AME is much better presently in India since civilian flying is booming in India needing more planes & in turn more AME's!

Dear Venkatesh, after Diploma in Engg.you can get admission in second year of B.Tech. There are universities that are going to offer you admission on the basis of state/ national level tests as well as their own tests or on the basis of your marks in Diploma.
Universities like LPU, offer you good scholarships too.
Check their website for more details.
Good luck.

Hello Shivprasad, These days almost all state government have introduced some or the other entrance exam for admissions to any branch of engineering. Hence, I am afraid, you have made yourself ineligible for admission to any government college.

Hello Suhail,
Normally, eligibility for doing AME is 10+2 with PCM. However, some institutes accept Diploma holders and also treat them as equivalent to class 12th.

Hello Vignesh,
To be frank, there is very low potential for aeronautical engineers in India. Lack of basic research and not much of aerospace industries are the reasons. On the other hand, the scope for AME and the people who maintain civilian aircraft is immense. With the passenger and cargo traffic showing upwards of 15%, airlines are buying airplanes in huge numbers which in turn requires huge trained manpower to maintain.
