Aerospace engineering per se does not have much scope in Indian contexts. DRDO recruits engineers in different branches for domain expertise. Else one ends up doing production or main jobs.

It's good to know your ambition. You must first make attempts to get Admission in any of the IIT's or NIT's. If for some reason you could not get admission then only you should try for a private college.

(b) Aeronautical Engineering is an interdiscipinary degree. You can do M.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering after B.Tech in Mechanical or Electronics & other branches.

After completing Diploma, one can get lateral admission in the 2nd year of engineering or use Diploma as equivalent to class 12th and get admission in the 1st year. Now, if the Diploma is in mechanical, then for lateral entry there will be restriction as to which branch you can get admitted. However, if you are using Diploma as equivalent to class 12th, then you can get admission in any branch of engineering.
