Indian Institute of space Technology is sponsored by ISRO and is considered as the premium Institute as far as Aerospace teaching and learning is concerned. The institute has a good reputation for placements, however the job opportunities for Aeronautical or Aerospace engineers is rather limited in India. ISRO or DRDO or armed forces do employ Aeronautical or Aerospace engineers but only the first two employ them in their Core area of knowledge. Armed forces employ them simply as maintenance engineers in their own air arm. However, you can get good job in perhaps MNCs who are now having their offices in India and dealing in this subject like Boeing or Airbus or similar companies.

Hindustan University conducts this entrance test for admission to engineering branches. There are many variables which will determine the cutoffs in this examination for getting admission. These are: the number of students who appear, the difficulty level of the examination, difficulty level of different examinations conducted by different institutions and admissions of the students in respect of those. Hence, it is difficult to say what the cutoff will be as for the marks are concerned but different sources indicate that if you can get a percentile of 60 and about your chances of getting desired branch are very bright. Hello Chaitanya, placements for aerospace or aeronautical engineers is a bit troublesome in India. This is so because the opportunities for employment in the core field are really less. Perhaps only ISRO or DRDO are two agencies which employ experts from these fields. Hence you should be knowing this when you join this engineering branch. From the studies it is revealed that majority of the students of this branch go for either MBA or for post graduation abroad. Jain University has a good name academically as well as they have a good placement cell. This university makes a lot efforts to see to it that majority of students are placed but then their efforts will be subject to the market trend and availability of vacancies of this specialist branch.
