Yes Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pantnagar is highly regarded & boasts good ranking particularly in agriculture. In 2026 GBPUAT fell 108 ranks to #509 rank in the 'Asia' category by the QS World University Rankings. This is the second consecutive year that the institute has slipped in the rankings.

If you're asking whether Quantum University is ICAR recognized, then simple answer — no, till today it is not ICAR recognized for agriculture programs.
I've done my MBA from Quantum University, so sharing this honestly and clearly.
The university is UGC recognized, so it's a valid private university and your degree is valid for jobs and higher studies. But if you're specifically looking for ICAR approval (especially for BSc Agriculture), then it doesn't have that right now.
So if ICAR recognition is very important for your future plans, you should keep that in mind before applying.

In the 'Agriculture and Allied Sectors' category, the institute's ranks have descended when evaluated against previous year's ranking. In 2025, GBPUAT fell 1 rank to #9 rank in the 'Agriculture and Allied Sectors' category by the NIRF ranking.

UPCATET is a mandatory exam for students who wish to get admission to government agriculture universities in Uttar Pradesh.
There are many agricultural universities that accept UPCATET scores for UG and PG courses.
