Hello Satya, As per my understanding of the situation in India, opportunities for employment for Aeronautical engineering branch graduates is quite minimal. On the other hand, with announcement of purchase of large number of aircraft by civil aviation industry in India opens up great opportunities for employment.

Aeronautical engineering will be better, as the number of opportunities will be more. Moreover, it has got more scope than in comparison with maintenance engineer.

Hi Roha, This programme is neither a degree nor Diploma as only a licensed person has the authority to carry out maintenance task & inspection on an aircraft but not a regular Engineering graduate or Diploma holder. It is a specialised course. Please refer the link below for detailed information:

Admissions to AME course is done as per the policy and rules laid down by DGCA, Govt. of India. DGCA has prescribed following criterion for admission. You are joining a premier institute which has excellent performance in AME licence examinations which are conducted by DGCA, Govt. of India.
ELIGIBILITY:
The applicant must have passed 10+2 examination in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized board or university or its equivalent. He should be physically fit.
HOW TO APPLY:
Application for admission should be made on the prescribed form which can be obtained from the Academy or you can apply online.

Generally speaking, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is not considered as engineering and there are hardly any government colleges offering this three year course. Star Aviation Academy, Gurgaon Scholarships and Funding for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering are -
Class 12th (PCM) > 90%: 50% scholarship in first-year tuition fee.
Class 12th (PCM) 80%-90%: 20% scholarship in first-year tuition fee.
Class 12th (PCM) 70%-80%: 10% scholarship in first-year tuition fee.
10% Discount on the tuition fee for girl candidates only.
