No, APSET is not a recruitment exam, it is an eligibility exam. Candidates who clear the APSET exam become eligible to apply for the recruitment of Assistant Professors or Lecturers in the colleges and universities of Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh SET exam only determines the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professors or Lecturers.

Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam conducts the APSET exam on behalf of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Andhra University organises the exam every year to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professors or Lecturers in the colleges or universities of the state. The University is responsible for organizing the exam, setting the exam pattern, conducting the test, and releasing the results. 

The Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professors or Lecturers in the colleges and universities of Andhra Pradesh. The APSET exam is conducted in 30 subjects. There is no limit on number of attempts in the APSET exam. However, candidates need to fulfill the APSET eligibility criteria to appear for the exam.

The APSET 2025 exam will be held soon. Andhra University, Visakhapatnam carries out the APSET exam in eight regional centres across the state. The Andhra Pradesh SET exam is conducted for 30 subjects. The APSET Paper 1 is common for all and for Paper 2, candidates need to choose a subject from the list of 30 subjects. The APSET Paper 1 is of 100 marks and Paper 2 is of 200 marks.

Candidates need to apply online and pay the application fee online in order to appear for the exam.
