No, most undergraduate level courses in Assam Agricultural University do not provide direct admissions. The university normally admits students on a merit basis or through entrance tests conducted either by the university itself or relevant state/national level tests. In courses such as B.Sc. in Agriculture or Veterinary Science, admission is normally provided after qualifying through an entrance exam, either conducted by the university or a relevant state/national level exam. However, for a few programs offered at a Diploma or certificate level, the admission process could be rather quite simple and require no test of entry.

Though well-renowned for its agriculture and allied courses, Assam Agricultural University offers an MBA in Agri-Business. This course would specifically focus on the agriculture sector and rural development. However, it is a lesser-known business school if compared to others for general MBA courses. For agri-business or rural management, it would do. The strengths of the programme are campus environment, faculty, and exposure to agriculture-related industries. If you want more of a traditional or general MBA, you may want to take your search elsewhere to another university that has business education with stronger emphasis.
