Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU), Guwahati, is a decent university, particularly for studying science, technology, and engineering in Assam. ASTU ranks 582nd in India and 14th in universities of Assam (EduRank 2025). It is also identified as one of the best technical universities in the area. The university is a government public university that was founded in 2009 and provides various diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate courses in pharmacy, engineering, architecture, science, and management. Yes you can join Assam Science and Technology University without JEE for B.Tech but you have to appear for Assam Combined Entrance Examination (Assam CEE) . Admission will be based on this entrance test score. You have to pass 10+2 with a minimum of 45% marks in PCM and you should be a permanent resident of Assam.

The best course offered at the Assam Science and Technology University is the MBA course. Many top organisations like Airtel, Samsung, Hyundai, Hero, Amul, and Pepsi visit the college for placement. The highest package offered till now is 12 LPA. The average package is 4 LPA. The course curriculum is industry relevant and the faculty members are very knowledgeable.

The applicants need to pass the higher secondary education (12 grades) with a minimum percentage of marks, i.e., 45 marks (40 for reserved categories) in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to get admission in B.Tech programs of Assam Science and Technology University.

The best salary offered for B.Tech students goes up to INR 8-10 LPA, with placements coming from the likes of big IT firms such as Infosys and TCS.
