The cutoff marks laid down by the Assam Science and Technology University, ASTU for admission to B.Tech courses are marked depending on many significant factors like the number of applicants, how difficult the examination has been, and how many seats are made available to them.

However, every year cut-off marks for admission are announced by the university after examination for selection based on the performance of an applicant in the Joint Entrance Examination- (JEE) Main.

 These will generally change for the current year's cutoffs in 2024 with different trends rather than the usual factors like overall performances by the candidates in the entrance examination, total availability of seats from the university's matrix, and category-based reservation.

Generally, the cutoffs set for different B.Tech streams in ASTU are highly competitive, with the maximum cutoffs generally being found in Computer Science and Engineering or Electronics and Communication systems. The placement opportunities available at Tezpur University and Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) are very much different in terms of results. At Tezpur University, almost 60-70% of students get jobs secured with a median salary of around 5.5 LPA for undergraduates and 4 LPA for post-graduate students.

 Companies like Amazon, TCS, and Oracle are frequent visitors in the process of placement. On the contrary, unlike Tezpur, who's placement opportunities are not also made available so much at ASTU: it is said to hold a relatively lower placement rate as well as package in comparison.

 This university, in general, has a much better experience of placements, particularly on industry exposure and salary packages.

The fee system is different for various courses and programs within Assam Science and Technology University. For undergraduate courses like B.Tech, the fee is around INR 4.98 Lacs per 4-year program.

This can be the same for certain branches like mechanical and electrical engineering, though a branch like mechanical engineering might have a lesser fee of INR 55.60 K. For postgraduate programs like M.Tech, the fees are variable- most of the courses such as M.Sc. in Computer Science have a fee of about INR 1 Lacs for 2 years.

There is also an applicable fee structure for courses like M.Pharm or MCA as per their specialization. Some Diploma courses are relatively lower in costs which include pharmacy courses compared to the degree equivalent. Scholarships are also available in the university for eligible students and help reduce the financial burden.
