Both then branches are same. But, mechanical is the study of machine and automobile is the study of motor bike and car design and parts.

I always believe that if any one pursues a job oriented course, he/she must enrich some practical experience then go for next level study, so according to my view you should go for a job, do it at least for 1 year and then go for B.Tech.
