The first year of the BE at Sapthagiri College of Engineering focuses on building a strong foundation. Aspirants get to learn basics of Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, and Programming. After having a hold on core concepts, they are taught advanced learning tools. Sapthagiri College of Engineering designs this initial BE phase to help students transition from school-level Science to complex engineering concepts through a mix of theory and introductory lab work. 

Sapthagiri College of Engineering has made it mandatory for General category students to have at least 45% aggregate in their optional subjects in order to get enrolled in the BE course. For students from Karnataka belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories, the minimum percentage required in order to get enrolled in the BE course is 40%. For admission to BE at Sapthagiri College of Engineering, students need to appear for the respective entrance exams. AIT Pune cutoff for admission to the BE course was concluded after Round 1 of JEE Main Seat Allotment result. Considering the AIT Pune closing ranks for BTech ranged between 53637 and 113592 for General category students. During the AIT Pune cutoff 2023,  B.E. in Computer Engineering was the most competitive specialisation with a closing rank of 53637 in the last round.

Students have to pay a Caution Fee of INR 4000 for B.E. admission at Institute of Engineering & Technology, Devi Ahilya Vishvavidhalaya. This fee is included in the first fee installement of INR 49,000 that has to be paid at the time of admission.
