The seat allotment at the university is subject to seat availability and merit of the candidate. Out of which, 70% of seats are for candidates passed from Maharashtra State Boards. Additionally, 30% seats are reserved for candidates passed from other State Boards from other states of India. The seat reservation is done as per the guidelines of the Government of Maharashtra for the candidates belonging to reserved categories from the Maharashtra state.

As per the official brochure for the NMU BSc in CS course, the intake capacity is nearly 40. Students are admitted to the programme based on the sanctioned seat intake. The selection also depends upon the candidates performance in the last qualifying examination.
