B.Sc. Biotechnology is a three-year undergraduate course that focuses on cellular and biomolecular processes. It aims to equip the learners with skills to alter the DNA of various living organisms. The admission process varies from college to college for this course and is both merit and entrance exam based. However, a candidate needs to have qualified 10+2 from any recognised board with Physics Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects. There are various top colleges in Mumbai that offer this course. For some of them, you need to qualify for an entrance exam, and the cut-off depends on the number of applicants and the number of seats available. For others, you need to have a good ( on average, 80%) grade in your 12th standard. For Mithibai College, Mumbai, up to round five, the cutoff merit percentage was 91%. While for B. K. Birla College of Arts, Science and Commerce, it was 70% in round one.
