GATE functions as a postgraduate entrance exam for M.Tech M.Sc and doctoral admission while it does not serve as a test for undergraduate B.Tech admission.
Students wishing to study B.Tech in Biotechnology through BiPC background must pass the entrance examinations JEE Main and NEET or state-level engineering entrance tests depending on which college they plan to attend. University participation in admission sometimes accepts 12th-grade students for concentration-based enrollment.

For studying the BTech Biotechnology course, you must have a minimum of 50 to 60% marks in the PCM/PCMB subjects and valid entrance exam scores. Most of the top colleges including the IITs and the NITs give admission on the basis of entrance exam marks.
Having said that, there are a lot of private colleges that give admission on the basis of the marks obtained in Class 12 board exams. These colleges also take extra admission rounds like the PI or GD. Also, there may be a few colleges that give 50-50 weightage to both the things.
So, you must go to the official website to confirm the procedure they follow for giving admission to the BTech

The general admission process for the BTech Biotechnology course starts by checking the eligibility criteria for the course at your desired colleges. The basic requirement is to have at least 50 to 60% marks in the PCM/PCB/PCMB subjects in Class 12. Some colleges also give merit-based admissions for which you will have to check their college website.
The next step to follow is to give relevant entrance tests and get very good marks in the same. You also have to fill out the college application forms before the last date. After the results are out and you've got your marks and rank, you have to apply for the college counselling session w

The BTech Biotechnology course duration in India is generally 4 years. Almost all of the BTech courses are 4 years long that include both theoretical and practical lab work in order to make the students job-ready. As an exception, if you have a 3-year Diploma in Biotechnology or a related field, you can complete the BTech Biotechnology course in 3 years via the lateral entry admission systems where you can directly enter the 2nd year of the UG program.

You cannot seek admission to the B.Tech in Biotechnology course at the Kolhapur Institute of Technology purely on the basis of an MHT CET (PCB) score. Admissions are based on entrance exams; the admissions may be qualified either through MHT CET or JEE Main for entrance into the program.
Those candidates qualifying through either of the examinations can participate in the CET counseling process for final allotment of seats. This means that while scores from MHT CET are accepted, admission is possible by other means also.

You should select proper subjects for your higher secondary education because you want to pursue B.Tech Biotechnology through MHT CET after four years of study.
Students who plan to take MHT CET need to choose between PCM (Physics Chemistry Mathematics) and PCB (Physics Chemistry Biology) as their subject combination.
Biotechnology demands knowledge from both biology and technology fields hence students need to establish an extensive understanding of Biology. Many engineering entrance exams which include MHT CET demand candidates to take Mathematics as one of their mandatory subjects. The PCM combination serves as the better choice becau
