Go for the college that has MoU signed with companies so that students get knowledge from very 1st year.

You are advised not to go by name of degree but by reputation and brand image of engineering college where you want to do B.Tech CSE or B.Tech (Hons.) CSE. Unless you want to go by brand name of IIT, NSIT is a better option for BTech CSE in comparison to IIT Dhanbad.

Except Jadavpur University there isn't any top institute for engineering in West Bengal.

Colleges offering direct admissions are very rare. But I would suggest you can try your luck by approaching some private engineering college for admission via management quota.

UPES takes majority of admission through her own exam conducted by the college fir getting admission in various course available.
Exam name is UPESEAT conducted on 13th may 2017 so you have to fill form by the official site of college and then go through exam for admission.

There is no set guidelines for distance mode engineering from UGC and AICTE and even companies will not consider distance learning B.tech degree for their opening.
So, for growth, knowledge and further education you must choose Regular B.Tech programme.
