Honestly, for BTech CSE I'd pick Thapar. It has a stronger engineering reputation, better placement opportunities and a stronger peer group overall. Chitkara is decent too, but if you have both options, I'd go with Thapar.

Lovely Professional University (LPU) offers B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) as a 4-year undergraduate programme. However, LPU's current 2026 official B.Tech. If you have CSE at both, I'd pick Thapar. Chitkara is a decent option, especially if fees are a big factor, but Thapar has the stronger engineering reputation and overall peer group. If the fee difference isn't a major issue for you, I'd go with Thapar.

There are 86 seats available in Computer Science and Engineering specialisation of BTech at Indian Institute of Technology Patna. The seats in CSE are allotted via JoSAA Counselling based on JEE Advanced scores.
