BIT Mesra admits candidates to the BTech course based on the scores of candidates in the JEE Main exam. The admission process is entrance-based and candidates must appear for JEE Main to participate in the same. Candidates shortlisted based on exam scores must also participate in the JoSAA counselling round for final seat allotment.

Partially yes. See, you can't choose among the core subjects of the BTech Automobile Engineering course. These are compulsory subjects that you need to study every semester. They give you a strong foundational base for the field.

But the elective subject choices are quite interesting and you can pick the ones according to your interests and understanding.
