Will my selection of good colleges become limited if I take admission on the basis of lateral entry in B.Tech?

Lateral entry is not available in IITs and NITs only. Otherwise, each state university conducts its own entrance exam for lateral entry students. So, you can get good colleges also after doing Diploma in engineering.

First of all clear what you want to do in your life. If you want to do private jobs then search for a good job. Alongside, prepare for GATE or non-technical entrance. You can also prepare for bank jobs and SSC CGL.
