What I have understood from your question that you are asking for some tips of writing btech  exams.

The tips include first make sure you are right answer in points. 

  1. You should also draw some table graph whenever required. 
  2. Make sure to Mark your main points of the answer 
  3. Try to analyse previous year questions of around 2 years you will get a lot of knowledge regarding the pattern of the exam. 
  4. One insider tips would be you should ask your seniors about the best study material you can refer as a depend from college to college.

Yes, Vel Tech is a good college for BTech as it has been recognised as an 'A' Grade institution by the NAAC. It is also accredited by the NBA and recognised by the AICTE. The new year cutoff for B.Tech in Civil Engineering for Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) is not mentioned but the admission criteria for getting into B.Tech programs entail the 10+2 or equivalent science qualification passed with minimum 50%, from any recognized university/boarding. For the general category the merit percentile was 476, for the round 2 it was 583 and 1354 for round 3 for other categories. However this information might not be very much useful to determine HPU's B.Tech cutoffs.
