Yes, candidates can change their BTech branch at NIT Goa after the first year. A student admitted to a particular branch of the undergraduate programme will continue studying in that branch till completion. However, the Institute may permit a student admitted through JEE (Main)/DASA quota, to change from one branch of studies to another after the first two semesters.

DASA is the abbreviation for Direct Admission of Students Abroad. Yes, candidates can get direct admission to BTech courses through DASA at NIT Goa but the seats allocated through DASA are only reserved for Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) / Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), not for every student. However, for admission through DASA candidates are required to qualify for their basic eligibility criteria that state: Admissions are based on SAT scores, and candidates need a valid SAT subject test score in Mathematics Level 2, Physics, and Chemistry.

NIT Goa follows the eligibility for admission follows the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. For BTech courses, at the time of admission, the candidates should have passed/ appeared and awaiting results of the final examination of the Class 12 or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects of study. Additionally, the candidates must have secured at least an aggregate of 75%. The selection process for BTech at NIT Goa completely depends on the JEE Mains scores achieved by the candidates'.
