Yes, the Gulabrao Patil Homoeopathic Medical College does take the NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) board exam for admissions to the BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) course, as long as you qualify with the eligibility conditions of the college. Generally, the applicants must have passed the 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects with a minimum percentage (generally 50% or more). Your NEET score of 204 would be considered during counseling, but also subject to the college's individual cutoff and seat availability. It would be advisable to verify with the college itself for

Yes, with a score of 166 in NEET 2024, you should be eligible to pursue a BHMS course as this score falls within the range required for admission to most colleges offering BHMS programs, depending on your category and the specific college you are applying to; however, it's recommended to check the cut-offs for your state and preferred colleges to confirm eligibility.

Key points to remember:

NEET score is mandatory for BHMS admission: To pursue a BHMS course, you need to qualify NEET and achieve a score above the cut-off set by the respective colleges.

Category-wise cut-offs:

With a NEET rank of 406089 and 387 marks, it is highly unlikely that you will secure a government seat for either BAMS or BHMS, as your rank is quite low and most government colleges have significantly higher cut-offs, especially for the general category.

Key points to consider:

High competition:

Government seats for BAMS and BHMS are highly competitive, and a low NEET rank like yours may not be sufficient to secure a seat in a government college.

State-wise variations:

While the chances are slim for a government seat across India, you might have a slightly better chance depending on

Obtaining admission to BHMS or BAMS government college programs in Kolkata through NEET 2024 with 450 marks remains difficult. Government colleges throughout West Bengal maintain high cutoff ranges because their entrance competition becomes very strong. BHMS admission at National Institute of Homeopathy, Kolkata demanded test scores above 520 in 2023 and Calcutta Unani Medical College BAMS candidates needed minimum 500 marks in 2023. You can potentially secure admission to private colleges or different government institutions through proper evaluation of their admission criteria and cutoff marks followed by counseling participation.

As of February 24, 2025, the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has not yet announced the counselling dates for BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) AYUSH admissions for the 2025-2026 academic session. Historically, the counselling process begins after the NEET-UG results are declared. For instance, in 2024, NEET-UG was conducted on May 5, with results announced on June 14, and Bihar AYUSH counselling commenced in the first week of September.

Since your NEET score is 211 marks, you can search for a BHMS course in various colleges in India. Some of them include Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, and Kerala University of Health Sciences. Although your score is not good enough to get into top colleges, most colleges have different admission criteria, and some of them might still accept your application on the basis of state-level counseling or management quota seats. It is advisable to verify college requirements on an individual basis and engage in counseling for improved chances.

As your NEET score is 380, there are very few chances that you will be given admission in a government medical college for BAMS or BHMS. BAMS cutoff in government colleges is usually between 720 and 162 for the general category, and for BHMS, about 720 to 136. Your score is way lower than these numbers, and thus admission would be difficult. You can consider attending private colleges or other health sciences schools with lower cutoffs.
