In order to get a seat in top medical colleges in India, candidates first have to crack NEET UG by securing a cutoff. For an unreserved category, the NEET cutoff percentile is 50. The cutoff varies based on the reservations.

It cannot be said for sure that you will be able to get a seat in government BAMS or BHMS college with 242 marks and an SC category. The cut-offs for government colleges vary from year to year and also depend on the number of seats available and how many students apply for them. In 2022, the cut-off for SC category students for BAMS was around 400 marks in NEET.

For last year, the closing rank for Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) was 261098 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing year on year, it is advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission in P. Savani University.
