Candidates should have a strong hold on the subject matter he/she wishes to take. Preparation should start from revising Bachelor's level topics. There are few points that can help candidates in their preparation.
These are as follows:
Time-Table: It is advised that candidates make a time-table and plan their daily routine. Divide major subjects in broad categories and then allot time to each category. This can help in covering all the main subjects and topics. Reference Books and Sources: Getting books for reference material has become easy these days. Reference books and material can be fetched online, as there are a number of sites available that provide good study material. Candidates can buy these books or can also read them online, as they can help in preparation to a great extent. Previous Years Question Papers: These serve to be of great help at the time of preparation. Students can see the structure and pattern of the paper and can prepare accordingly. Solving these question papers on a regular basis also help in managing and distributing time to each section of the question paper. This in return helps candidates to be quick and smooth with the questions and section at the actual examination time. Coaching Centres: A place where candidates can be trained well to face the examination. Candidates can take admission into these coaching centres and polish their understanding of subjects. These centres also provide material and guess papers for students to practice. Apart from these pointers, candidates should remember to stay healthy and calm at the time of preparation of examination. Staying calm and complacent is very important when preparing for any competitive examination. Have a cool mind and plan everything instead of creating a havoc out of everything. Candidates should also stay fit and healthy to avoid missing out examination due to illness. Always remember, a healthy mind conquers the world.

Every year, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) conducts an All India entrance examination for admission to Bachelor of Arts (BA) programmes offered by the university. Entrance exam has been divided into five sections namely General Awareness, Numerical Aptitude, General Mental Ability, General English and Social Science, each divided into number of individual chapters.
Mathematical Aptitude Test Areas (+2 Level): Logarithms, Inequalities, Matrices and Determinants, Progressions, Binomial Expansion, Permutation and Combination, Equations (up to degree 2), Function and Relation, Complex Arithmetic, 2-D Coordinate Geometry, Basics of Calculus, Basic Concepts of Probability.
Analytical and Logical Reasoning: Questions will be mainly for checking logical conclusion, graphical/data interpretation, etc.
