What is BHU PET?

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) conducts Postgraduate Entrance Test (PET) for admissions to its PG programmes offered by its affiliated/constituent colleges. The programmes are offered in Humanities, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Science, Engineering, Commerce, Management, Mass Communication, Hospitality, Travel, and Teaching streams.

BHU PET 2020 Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria for all courses offered through BHU PET 2020 is different in terms of education requirements. Here is the eligibility for BHU PET 2020 for MCA course: 

• Candidates should have completed their graduation under 10+2+3 pattern in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate
• They should have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at either Intermediate or +2 (10+2) or equivalent examination, or, Bachelor’s level (as a main or a subsidiary subject).

BHU PET 2020 Admission Process 

The admission process of BHU PET 2020 is common for all courses: 

Step 1: Fill BHU PET Application Form

The application process of BHU PET 2020 begins on the official website around January-February every year. 

• Candidates can apply for BHU PET by registering themselves first and then filling up the application form with academic and personal details.
• Next, they need to upload a photograph and pay the application fee in online mode only.

The application fee for BHU PET can be paid in online mode using Debit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking options. The fee for all courses is as under:

Step 2: Download BHU PET Admit Card

Candidates who have applied for BHU PET 2020 before March 12 will be issued admit cards to appear for their entrance exam. The admit cards for BHU PET will be issued at least a week before the exam date. Candidates can download their BHU PET admit card from the official website of the exam by using their email or registration ID. Candidates have to carry the admit card on the exam day along with a valid photo ID proof. 

Step 3: Appear for BHU PET

Candidates have to appear for BHU PET according to the exam schedule shared by the university for their respective course. To take the examination, candidates have to appear at the allotted exam centre. for their respective course at the exam centre allotted to them. Candidates should reach the allotted test centre at least an hour ago before the exam timings. They should carry their admit card and a valid photo ID card to get an entry in the examination hall. 

Step 4: Check BHU PET Results

Within a month after the exam, BHU will publish the results of all courses for the written entrance exam. The university will also publish merit list for all courses separately. Candidates can check their results mentioning scores obtained and rank by entering login details on the results page.

Step 5: Appear for BHU PET Counselling

Candidates who fulfill the minimum marks criteria will be listed in the merit list of BHU PET for their respective course/s. Then, the university will share the counselling details including schedule, process and documents required for admission requirements. Candidates have to participate in the counselling rounds of BHU PET in online mode then report to the allotted college/ department with their academic and category documents. They need to pay the admission fee and course fee within the stipulated time period to secure the allotted seat.
