If you are really keen about contributing to the world of healthcare and bringing some change in the way health problems are treated and overall patient care, you should definitely pursue a PhD in BME course as it involves advanced-level research in a particular subject area. You can enter academia or the research field after finishing your PhD degree and look forward to good earning opportunities in government research organizations and healthcare sector.

Having said that, the choice is totally yours. You should think about your interests and future plans carefully and then make a move.

It depends on the level of the Diploma you choose. If you opt for a UG Diploma in Biomedical Engineering you'll need to fulfill the eligibility requirements, the same as the BTech course.

And if you opt for a PG Diploma in Biomedical Engineering, then you would need to fulfill the requirements, the same as the MTech course.

BME Course Levels
BME Course Eligibility Criteria
UG Diploma in Biomedical Engineering
  • Students must have passed Class 12 (Science Stream) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology as mandatory subjects.
  • Minimum marks requirement typically ranges between 50 percent and 60 percent, depending on the institution.
PG Diploma in Biomedical Engineering
  • Completion of a 4-year B Tech Bio medical Engineering or a closely allied field (e.g., Biotechnology) from a recognized university.
