Birla Institute of Applied Sciences has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:
CoursesEligibility
MCACandidate must have completed B.C.A/ B.Sc. (Computer Science)/ B.Sc. (IT) / B.E. (CSE)/ B.Tech. (CSE) / B.E. (IT) / B.Tech. (IT) or equivalent Degree.
OR
Candidate must have completed any graduation degree (e.g.: B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc / B.Com. / B.A./ B. Voc./ etc., ) preferably with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation level and obtained at least above mentioned marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category)
For students having no Mathematics background compulsory bridge course will be framed by the respective University/ Institution and additional bridge courses related to computer subjects as per the norms of the concerned University.
B.E. / B.TechCandidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised school/board.

The institute is located in the most picturesque surroundings of the lake town of Bhimtal, in the Nainital district of Uttaranchal. The campus is spread over an area of about 10 hectares of prime land amongst the Kumaun hills, thus providing a cool climate and lush green environmental surroundings, ideally conducive to academic pursuit. There are enormous facilities provided.

Good points:
Good weather, nice location, pleasant weather. Nice location around the campus to spend your Sunday or small vacations. Small college around strength of 600+. No rush
Friendly faculty (few)
You can do creative work very easily on your own. (you'll know why).
Reliable facilities.
Rate of placement is satisfactory. Fees is good as compare to other private colleges.
Bad points:
Faculty is not too much Qualified. One badminton Court only.
Lacking Infrastructure.
Bad laboratories for ECE student. College Fest and other function are not properly organised. Avg salary is not too good. You will find range of student from 95% to 50%.
