The university places the highest importance on student placements. The university has a placement and counselling cell. The minimum cutoff for B.Tech at MIT School of Bioengineering Sciences & Research (MITSB) is 85th percentile for any of the entrance exams accepted by the institute: JEE Mains, MHT CET, or NEET.

To get selected in a B.Tech college in India, the student first must select the college they want to get in, once they have an idea of which college they want, they can fill the entrance exam application form. JEE Mains is one of the entrance exams, and mostly all of the engineering colleges in India accept JEE Mains score. There are some universities that have their own entrance exams such as BITS and so the students must fill their applications in them accordingly. After applying and attempting the tests, we get the scores in the form of percentile and rank. The students are then required to fill the counselling for their respective choice of college. JOSSA counselling includes most of the colleges including all of NITs, IITs and most of IIITs. However for admission in IIT one needs to attempt JEE advanced exam, which one can give only after having above a certain percentile (generally around 90) in JEE Mains. Likewise JAC counselling is for colleges in Delhi namely DTU, NSUT, IGDTUW and IIITD. Student have to arrange their prefered course in the order of their preference and then 4-5 rounds of cut-offs are released. The student after getting a seat in any college have to submit a seat acceptance fee (which is usually 50% of the tuition fee) to get their name in the course. After that spot round is released to fill the vacant seats. There is no minimum percentile criteria, if a college releases a cutoff and your percentile is eligible in the cutoff then you can get admission in the particular course.
