Evening/distance/online/part time engineering courses are not valid any more as per the latest supreme court verdict, hence, I would recommend you to join regular B.Tech course for better career prospects.

But, if you are not interested in giving JEE exam, then you might not get better streams (CS, mechanical, civil, etc.) in govt. institutions at lower rate. You may take admissions in any college but you have to take admission via management quota (which is very expensive)

Tolani is a very well known name in academic circles for their Marine engineering courses. They have also a very vibrant and dynamic placements cell. Invariably majority of the students get placed by the institute.
