if you are creative, you can also go for:
fashion designing
photography
event management. There is a ocean of opportunities here. All he need to do is identify his area of interest because if your good at something & have fascination for it, making it your profession is as easy as clicking your fingers. You just need the right direction. Best of luck.

Firstly, sure there are good courses for grooming one's personality and attitude. I suggest in the below way before you consider any professional certification:
1. Have a self analysis questionnaire by yourself to know what are the key areas you look for improvement and what are your strong areas in your personality? Keep them as detailed as possible and as specific as possible

Some of the roles that I can think ( to begin with )of for IT sector are:
Developer, testing engineer, network engineer, hardware engineer, system analyst, web developer, web designer, Tech support, quality teams, DBA. On the other hand there are people who have their careers in business analysis, or as a technical trainer, business development specialist. Upon a couple of years of experience, you could change your role, or move onto leader position in the same ladder too.

It's very nice to know that you want to become scientist. Let me assure you that you can indeed become a geographical scientist. What needs to be done is firstly complete your graduation and post graduation studies in this subject. Then you can obtain a job in either a college or a government research lab. Then register yourself in a topic for Ph.D. At this stage you can be called a scientist or a researcher.

You have studied taking pure science that doesn't mean that you have to choose from these options only there are plenty of other options like BCA, BBA, BHM and many more. There almost all the branches which accept a science student except a few for which commerce is necessary.
