I would give the TISS programme a high rating - based on the following:
To become a social entrepreneur, you need to understand the Biz and the nuances in which go in making a venture profitable or if it's a not-for-profit then sustainable. And for this some courses are important - especially HRM, Biz strategy, Marketing, Branding etc. TISS as an organisation has been an expert in RD for many years - and hence has an edge over other Social Entrepreneurship programmes - and they have grassroots working knowledge - hence making their course of high value. Some schools accept gap years, but for appearing in an interview, more weightage is given to the work experience. Some candidates prepare for this exams along with their respective jobs. So, that's why most of the big firms don't consider this gap year for preparation as a valid reason.

Hello Yogesh, it completely depends on what you want to do? If you want to do Marketing, but heard from people that finance has good scope and took finance, then you will not grow. Scope lies in your interest level. People avoid HR. But, if one is really interested in HR then one also grows a lot in HR. Specialization should not be decided like this. Think of yourself in a marketing role. Would you love it? Then go for it. Similarly analyze yourself for finance, HR and operations too. All the best.

Don't ever think about failure, always keep a positive attitude and motivate yourself with what you aim to do and what will get you there. Software engineering can be done from any institute, all the institutions in India teach basically the same thing.
