Yes, you can do Merchant Navy course being a chemical engineering student. Career as a merchant navy can be pursued as an officer in mainly filled like Marine Engineering ( deck). The following streams of study are eligible in India for young aspirants who wanted to join on the deck. You can explore about- 3 years degree course in nautical Science (12th) aspirants.
- 4 years degree programme in Marine Engineering (12th) aspirants
- 2 years course for Diploma holders
- one year course for graduate in Mechanical Engineering
- 3 months course for Deck Cadet for (12th )students.

To get Lateral Entry admission into Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow, admission is based on UPSEE Lateral Entry exam. Candidates must have minimum 45 percentage (40 percentage for reservation category candidates) in Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognised College or University. Lateral entry admission to this course is based on the merit of the Central University Entrance Test (CUET).

A perfusion technology candidate is required to work in an operating room of care units, also known as super-speciality and specialty hospitals, when the heart surgeries are going on. A candidate in perfusion technology is also required to work in cardiothoracic ICUs and intensive care units.Shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st Dec. of the year of admission. Must have passed 10+2 in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
