Your books provide a strong foundation, but for JEE Mains, you need more problem-solving practice. Add HC Verma (Physics), Arihant/Cengage (Maths), and P. Bahadur (Physical Chemistry), along with mock tests for better preparation.

Students need to successfully complete their Class 12 year with Physics along with both Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology together with English to become eligible for NEET admission. Candidates who fall into the General category must achieve a minimum of 50% marks in PCB yet General-PWD applicants need 45% marks and SC/ST/OBC candidates must demonstrate 40% marks. The percentage of NEET marks depends on your category while your total PCB score amounts to 167. Students within the SC/ST/OBC category should consider taking the NEET examination whereas those from the General category will have to reevaluate their candidacy.

Students might wonder why Transition metals have variable oxidation states unlike s and p block elements, there are several reason which are mentioned below;

  • Most of the d block elemets have incompletely filled d-orbitals, which allow multiple electrons to be lost in bonding process.
  • The energy difference between (n-1)d and ns orbitals is small, so both d and s orbital electrons can participate in bonding.
  • They form stable ionic and covalent bonds, adjusting oxidation states according to ligand or reaction conditions.
