The cutoff of Chennai Institute of Technology admission 2025 depends on the sanctioned intake capacity of the candidate's preferred course and specialisation. Currently, there are:
1. 30 seats for BE Civil Engineering.

No, a candidate may only join one programme of Chennai Institute of Technology at a time. This is because, according to the UGC and AICTE, A student can only pursue one Physical/Full-Time course at a time. Moreover, CIT Chennai only offers courses in Physical/Full-Time modes with no distance or open-learning modes available.

There are various specialisations offered under BTech at Chennai Institute of Technology in 2025. Some of them include: BTech Information Technology, BTech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, BTech Computer Science and Buisness System etc. Candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria set for each specialisation to be considered for admission.

Chennai Institute of Technology needs the applicants to have scored in Class 12 or Diploma in relevant course. Students under general category are to obtain at least 45 per cent aggregate and the candidates in the reserved category have to obtain at least 40 per cent aggregate. This qualification is the minimum prerequisite in order to take part in TNEA counselling process.

Candidates seeking admission in BTech in Chennai Institute of Technology are required to attend the TNEA counselling that is carried out by DOTE Chennai. The criterion is purely merit based either based on Class 12 or Diploma marks in related subject areas. The institute does not have any entrance exam to BTech admission.
