Hi Aashish,
First of all, you should check of all the options that you have in your hand. If you are devoted towards IIT and you think you can do it, then you should take a drop but remember drop is really frustrating so you should have enough to manage with it. Another factor affecting it is that it has to based on your this year marks. If you score around the cut-off so you can try but you have to prepare yourself to get around 200 marks. You need not write any entrance exam in order to get admission in SRM Law School, Chennai. Since it is a new law school it accepts almost everyone with minimum qualifications prescribed by bar council of India.

A main campus is always better than an affiliated campus. SRM and VIT are no doubt one of the best private institutes in India. In my opinion SRM Chennai (main KTR campus) is better than VIT Bhopal. And with this rank, it would be easy for you to get in SRM.
