Yes, there are hostels exclusively for 1st year students such as Sanathana boys' hostel for first-year post-graduate (PG) first-year students with intake capacity of 162, as well as Aishwarya, which is a girls' only hostel with an intake capacity of 220 students.

The library is open on all working days from 9 am to 8 pm, with issue and return up to 7 pm. On all second Saturdays and Sundays not forming part of public holidays, working hours are fixed as 10 am- 4 pm, with issue and return up to 3 pm. Members shall leave the library 10 minutes before the closing of the library at the second bell.

The Cochin University Library was established in 1974 as a central agency for meeting the information requirements of the academic community of the university. The library provides access to around 45 print periodicals, 15,000 online journals, 11 subject-specific databases, and 1490 e-books. The Academic community of CUSAT can access e-books, thesis databases, journal databases, e-journals, and other e-resources from any terminal within the University campus

Candidates need to complete Class 12 or equivalent with at least 65% aggregate with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the Subjects to apply for BVoc at Cochin University of Science and Technology. There is a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate for SC/ ST candidates belonging to Kerala. Hence, candidates can apply for BVoc with 65% in Class 12. However, they also need to pass CUSAT CAT for admission to BVoc programme.
