In case a student misses the internal exams at IIM, Visakhapatnam, they will be required to submit a written explanation to the institute. The application will be reviewed by the institute's academic committee and the committee will decide whether you have been granted or not for re-exam.

If the student's application is approved then they will be allowed to take the exam at a later date. If a student fails to convince with the application, the student will receive a zero for the exam.

Some special condition where allowed for re-exam:

• If a student misses an internal exam due to illness, they will need to provide a medical certificate from a doctor.
• If a student misses an internal exam due to a family emergency, they will need to provide a letter from a family member or friend explaining the emergency.
• If a student misses an internal exam due to travel, they will need to provide a copy of their travel itinerary.

If a student fails the internal exams at IIM Visakhapatnam, they will be placed on academic probation. This entails retaking the exams in the next semester. Failing to pass the exams again will result in the student being asked to withdraw from the program. The institute maintains a clear policy on academic performance, requiring students to maintain a minimum CGPA of 6.00 to remain in good standing. Falling below this threshold leads to an academic warning, followed by academic probation if improvements are not made. Academic advisors provide guidance, and counselling sessions are mandatory for students on probation. Failing to improve may result in programme withdrawal, as the institute prioritizes meeting minimum academic requirements.

IIM Visakhapatnam does not offer an Undergraduate (UG) Diploma program. IIMs primarily offer postgraduate programs such as the Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) and Fellow Program in Management (FPM) for doctoral studies. It's important to note that the programme offerings and admission criteria may change over time.
However, The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to the PGDM programs at IIM Visakhapatnam is a bachelor's degree with at least 55% marks. SC/ST/PwD candidates are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks requirement. They also consider CAT scores, work experience and other factors while shortlisting candidates for admission.
