You can choose between NIT Silchar and NIT Agartala for B.Tech Civil Engineering (CE), both of which are top NITs. Here are some criteria you can use to choose where to apply for admission:
1. NIRF Ranking: At the 38th spot in the NIRF rankings, NIT Silchar is placed ahead of NIT Agartala. NIT Agartala is ranked 80th on the same list.
2. Possibility of admission: Based on the JEE Mains closing rank, admission to NIT Agartala is comparable easier than that to NIT Silchar. In contrast to NIT S, where the final rank for the CE branch was 37548, NIT A had a closing rank of 43737.

The Assam University provides admission on the basis of various exams score GATE Assam University admission test, written skill assessment test. The admission for PG candidates is done by interviews and written test. The list of shortlisted candidates is displayed on the official website. You can check it from there.
