Make sure you are from pcm background and you can easily get admission in any private engineering college.

If you are looking for core branches then you will require near about 130+ marks to be on safe side because cut-off for SC was approx. 50 last year.

As per last year cut-off, rank data published by JoSAA, IIT-Guwahati ECE branch got closed at 1887 rank. Your son should aim at a rank better than 1887 (SC).
